Strength Training: The Holy Grail of Fitness



Each and every individual has an occupied schedule throughout the day even in these challenging times, when no one is allowed to step out of their confined spaces. That is why one needs to take some time off of their busy schedules and exercise in order to stay fit, physically as well as mentally. Everyone should participate in exercising every day. But there is still a large percentage of people out there, who don’t realize the importance of it and are prone to a number of long-term lifestyle related problems.

But things are gradually changing now and strength training is gaining a lot of traction these days.

Until recently, strength training was only constituted with bodybuilders and cardio was considered to be the most effective way to stay fit. But strength training is being viewed from a completely different angle now, as more and more people are transforming their bodies solely through this method of training. Strength training’s benefits and effects are being showcased by people on every social-media platform and people are slowly realizing the power of strength training and how it can completely transform one’s body.

Strength training has an afterburn effect which aids fat loss even when your body is at rest after completing your workout and it further promotes muscle gain. When our body is engaged in this type of training, every muscle is worked which helps in gaining a significant amount of muscle mass.

In order to grow your muscles and attain a good shape, you need to progressively overload during strength training sessions and work your muscles beyond the boundaries in order to achieve your desired body.

Helps in improving the posture

Many of us feel lazy, sickly, depressed and even fat, simply because of our poor posture. These difficult times have forced us to sit at a desk in front of our computer screens for hours in order to work from home which has led us to exist in this hunched over stance. This can be improved if we start lifting weights because weight lifting helps in training weak postural muscles, even out muscle imbalances and helps to reverse your posture. If this training routine is followed diligently, you’ll feel quite tall, strong and more attractive.

Increases Bone Density

Stronger bones help in building a better skeleton and have various other benefits in the long run. Having strong bones prevents us from various injuries which can lead to bone cracks and fractures that can happen to anyone but it becomes especially dangerous and prevalent as we age. Women are more susceptible to bone loss as a result of various hormonal and lifestyle changes. Several strength training exercises like squats, lunges, bench press, deadlift etc. are highly effective in creating bone mass because such exercises place a huge amount of stress on the larger bones and lead to increased bone density as well as a stronger body structure.


In all, strength training is not just about lifting weights but it also has truck loads of other benefits which help one to live a happier and healthy life ahead. It helps you view yourself in a better light and you feel quite strong, independent and confident. Once you have experienced the benefits of strength training at home then only you’ll be able to understand that strength training is actually the Holy Grail of fitness.
