Why is it important to include Strength Training in Daily Workout Routines?

It is a myth that strength training is for bodybuilders only? It’s the biggest myth that I running around every individual’s mouth that strength training is for bodybuilders but the fact is strength training can be performed by anyone belonging to any age group irrespective of gender.

It is important to follow a basic workout routine to stay fit and healthy but what kind of workout to be followed is important. With a sea of fitness information, it is quite difficult to find what exercises to perform like, for instance, an individual running for 3 km each day alone isn’t sufficient alone for that particular person to reach his/her fitness goal.

So what can be done to stay fit and perfect?

It is simple when one is exercising it is important to follow multiple workout routines, but why? Let's check it out.

What are the Advantages of including Strength Training?

The technique here is quite simple, it’s nothing but applying load and then a little overload to the muscle so that it can adapt and hence turn stronger. So, initially begin with our body weight or say lighter weight on the muscle and followed by heavier weights.

Let’s take an example: we have an individual who runs for 3 km per day and is still unable to meet his goals and still unable to perform his daily activities in the way he is supposed to perform.

  1. Protecting the lean muscle:

The problem with performing only cardio is we also lose a lot of muscle mass which can lead to a lack of the person’s ability to perform daily tasks, which can lead to major injuries as well but when it comes to strength training it helps in protecting the lean muscle of the body and then burn the fat around the muscle which later makes us less prone to injury.

  1. Stronger muscles:

It’s logical that the continuous push, pull, and lift movement with muscles shall help in building up good tension in the muscles and it then leads to stronger muscles later. In case individual wishes to gain muscle mass it is always advised to follow a strength training technique to give genuine results. This is called muscular hypertrophy.

  1. Burn calories most efficiently:

It is often advised that plus-sized people who wish to lose weight are always advised to follow strength training because strength training burns calories most efficiently. During a cardio workout, one burns calories and the burning tends to stop as the person ends his workout but in the case of strength training the calories tend to burn even after the workout and even during rest as well which leads to the burning of more calories and hence weight loss, similarly for weight gain as well.

  1. Reduces life-threatening diseases:

Strength training can help you overcome many life-threatening diseases like obesity, type 1, type 2 diabetes, arthritis and there has also been a research study that performing strength training for a longer period can even reduce the chances of getting cancer. Yes! If a person has just recovered from cancer it is advised to follow strength training and regain his lost immunity.

With this growing pandemic each day, it is advised to build your immunity, stay fit, and continue staying indoors as much as possible. Following a workout routine staying indoors is like a cherry on top of the cake.

But what kind of exercises? And how? Burpees, squats, planks, push-ups lunges, glute bridges are a few examples of strength training at home. But one must understand that consistency is the key to any fitness regime.

So, stay consistent, follow your workout routines, and stay fit each day. Remember that each day is a new beginning, so start today, follow tomorrow, and stay safe.
